She won't take her medicine!

I don't know how to get DD to take her medicine! It's driving me crazy. What do you do to get your LO to take their medicine?

Honestly I tell my kids if they take it they can pick a piece candy out. (sugar free candy)

how old is she?
my d is one and half. I just put the dropper in the side her mouth and do a little bit at a time. i also bribe her. like " if you take it, you can have an m&m" lol only time she gets candy. but most of the time she takes off and I have to cahse her down and have her dad help.

She's two. And her doc told me to stick it in her dippy cup with milk and now she decided she doesn't want milk. If she sea the medicine dropper she freaks out

The droppers were the only way to really get her to take her medicine. But when she had to take anti-biotics regularly it really got difficult, because she got tired of taking medicine all the time. So, it definitely got a lot harder. But trying to be sweet and bribing helps a lot, haha. I generally just told her she could do something she enjoyed if she took some medicine, like we'd go outside or something, or play with some water (silly things she enjoys).

Forcefully when she was little. If she refused to take it I'd have to have DH hold her while I kind of squished her mouth open and have it to her. She needed to take it whether or not she wanted to. I wasn't playing games lol. However, when she got older it was MUCH easier giving her the syringe and letting her take it herself

My middle baby will not take any medicine at all. Some medicines can't be mixed with milk, so last time he was on antibiotics I called the pedi and he told me to mix it with juice. It just had to be a small amount so i was sure he drank all of it. Sometimes you can give it to them like an enema. In extreme cases where nothing else works, they have injections.

I would sit on them or lean on them and put it in their cheek, so it goes past their gag reflex and its harder for them to try and thrrow it up.

i used to pin my son down, put the syringe in his mouth so it pointed into his cheek over his tounge so he couldnt spit it back out, and shoot.
when they need meds you do what you gotta do. (the nurse at the ER suggested the tounge bit)
now he is more comfortable with it and will open his mouth willingly

I feel so lucky. My son likes medicine. I just ask if he wants it (when it's time) and he comes to me and takes it. Have you tried it in a food? Maybe apple sauce.
