Thanksgiving

My DD is 7.5 mos old, and I would love for her to enjoy turkey dinner with us. I have read about BLW but I am not very confident with it and am just nervous to try certain foods. I have done really soft foods like banana, the puffs, sweet potato... but I havent tried any meats yet. On thanksgiving, how would I give her the turkey? Shredded? Cubed? Strips? I am just not sure. I am almost thinking of just pureeing it out of fear she will choke bc it isnt as mushy as bananas and what not. I am just nervous about it. Any advice?
Also, another question... If I give her mashed potatoes, can they have butter in them?? Should I just ask whoever is hosting to put some aside before salting and buttering? Sorry so many questions... FTM, TIA everyone!!!

my daughter was the same age last year. I just gave her a little tiny shred of turkey. lol she hated it. she still hates most meats. we stuck to cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and carrots.

When we do BLW we feed them exactly like we eat it, so if it has butter and salt, they get it... But not globs & globs of it. I plan to shread the boys turkey up into small pieces, but everything else I'm leaving as is. If you want to puree the meat, you can, if you're more comfortable with it.

Puree it! I gave my son some meats earlier on - pureed it, added it with some veggies, he loved it. (Definitely don't do extra butter and salt on potatoes if you can avoid it.)

we minced our sons turkey, he was the same age last year
they can eat all the foods you eat the way you season them. think about it, anyone that makes homemade foods, and once your LO gets older are you really going to make everything special for them.
butter is fine, its just fattening.
we gave our son everything just cut it super small (minced like) because we believed in texture, we did not want to start puree meats and than he didnt want textured meat when he got older. (he is not a big fan of meat but will sometimes eat it)
we even gave him pumpkin pie! (just a tiny bit to taste lol)

Thanx everyone for your responses. I think I'll try shredding it and see how it goes.
