Baby food

First time mom so please be nice.
How often should she be eating actual baby food at 8 months? I started out with just 1 meal a day around 6 months. Should she be eating it 3 times a day for "meals" and just having bottles in between or what? I want to make sure she's staying hydrated.

We didn't even start solids until 8 mos so I say once a day is fine. Formula/bm should still be the main nutrition so don't worry about how much solids.

at that age my son would get 1 meal a day. sometimes nothnig but formula. he didn't care for baby food and went straight to table foods at about 10 months.

Ok that makes me feel better! She loves baby food, but I know she needs her formula still. I'll keep doing what I've been doing then! Thanks ladies.

Her main source of nutrition should still be formula...My son didnt care too uch for baby food..or any food for that matter until 11-12 months. But at 8 months i was attempting to feed him 2 jars a day (fruit and veggie) with a cereal. most of the time i was throwing it away tho..cause he just wanted his ba ba

Food before one is just for fun. Formual intake is what is important at that age.At 8 months my son was eating two meals a day of food as well as a bottle after every meal and all other times he ate. My daughter wasbt really into solids until after a year so she mostly just nursed all day with crackers or fruit for snacks in between.
At 8 months they don't NEED any baby food. Just give it to LO to help them get used to textures and stuff. But as long as he is getting enough bottles he is fine.

my son gets baby cereal in the morning half a jar of fruit, half a jar of veggies and a couple baby spoons of meat around lunch and dinner time so basicly 3 meals a day and bottles in between. my daughter didnt want anything to do with baby food but she would sure go to town on those gerber graduates toddler meals at 8 months she would eat a whole one of those lol

We did baby led weaning with DD. She sat at every meal with us and "ate" from 6 months on. Now, at a year, she eats 3 meals a day and gets 16-20 oz if whole milk, plus all the ice water she wants. And snacks. She had a lot of fun with baby led weaning. It was super messy, but it was worth it. Now, she eats everything.
