A potential date is 31, and I just turned 21, is that too much of a gap in your opinion?

I personally probably wouldn't do it, however, it's more out of a bad prior experience (my ex was 12 years older than me.) than because of the age gap alone.

You're both legal adults. I see no issue.

My mom and step dad were 22 and 32 when they got together and they have been married over 20 years now. As long as you are on the same maturity level, it can work.

I'd say that maturity is an issue at any age. So long as you're on the same maturity level and are both consenting adults, I see no issue.

I will be 23 next month and my SO is 31 - we do just fine. I say go for it! I tend to like guys who are decently older than me, though.

It's really something you gotta personally try and see if it works for you.

Who cares what we think? If you like the dude, go for it. If it freaks you out, don't. When i was 18, i was dating a 35/36 year old. Follow your heart.

that's not bad. but i could never date a 31 year old. I think someone 21 and someone 31 are at different maturity levels. Maybe not, idk. I couldn't see myself with a 31 year old though.
