my baby is CRAZY! he just learned how to stand this week and now the second we lay him down in his crib he gets right up it just took me 45 mins to get him to finally stay laying down and go to sleep. I know he is tired because if I lay him in my bed he is out in a min or so and I cant just let him CIO because he does not know how to get down when he is standing. ugh!! any advice??? did your lo do this and how long did it last for?

I had the same problem with my daughter when she learned how to stand up. I used to lay her down every 2 mins but someday I just said NO and I know this may sound bad but few times I just left her in the room crying for about 5 mins and then she was going to sleep. It was like this for about 2-3 weeks. Now every time I put her to bed she knows its time to sleep and she doesn't stand up anymore. Sometimes she dose stand up and cries but I just let her cry for a few and she gose to sleep.

By the way, your baby is so cute!

DD is 8 months and she can't pull up yet, but she's definitely mobile and sometimes when I lay her down in her bed, she gets right back up on her hands/knees and fusses. So I flatten her out with one hand underneath her on her stomach and then pat her back with my other hand until she dozes off. If you don't want to go as far as CIO, maybe stay in there and pat his back until he dozes?

Oh see DD is fussy at bedtime because she's so tired, so she never laughs at me. And she loves to be pat and rubbed when she's sleepy. So having him fall asleep in your bed and then moving him doesn't work?

I will have to try letting him fall asleep in my bed tomorrow and just do that until he learns how to get down on his own I think that is the main problem he just wants to be snuggled to sleep lol (not that that is a problem it just makes the night a little longer lol)

Yeahh I'm a sucker for snuggly sleepy time. And DD goes to bed between 7 and 7:30 most nights. She gets her final bottle and then we snuggle until she falls asleep. Most of the time she doesn't even stir when I lay her down, but sometimes she does and that's when I pat her back to sleep. Something about holding her stomach keeps her still.

I just snuggled him to sleep for his am nap and he went in his crib no problem.

Some moms say you spoil them if you do that, but they're only babies once! And my 6 year old has been going to bed by himself for 4-5 years now and I always snuggled him to sleep as an infant.

ya and ya know what I had to do It again for bed tonight but it was so stress free and felt good for both of us! I don't know why I diddnt do it sooner. I think sometimes as a first time mom you listen to everyone else and forget to listen to your self and your baby. I think he was just telling me he wants snuggles. THANK YOU   <3
