It always amazes me that people seem to find it okay to ban certain words as culturally unacceptable, but degrading a woman for her choices is deemed a OK ;).

The choice to sleep with another woman's husband is not "A-Okay" to me. It's immoral. Call me old-fashioned but I don't respect women who don't have morals.

Morals are subjective to each individual however. And often people who smurf someone else's wife/husband are lied to or strung along as well. The issue with the word, is it's given only to women, and each individual seems to choose what their definition of it is. If both sexes were called slut and shamed over things it would be one thing, however only women suffer for their sexual choices. Guys cheat and often get away scot free, yet the woman is a slut? Seem's a bit backwards to label the women, but not the person most guilty :-P.

I agree with this. I do not use the word slut. I don't really believe in it. When I was younger, my daughter's father got another girl pregnant. I knew about This girl ring pregnant because we had become friends and I was the one she ran to after her abortion since "the father wouldn't be a part of it and wanted nothing to do with her". I blamed her for a LONG time while I stayed with him. Once I grew up a little though, I realized it wasn't her that I had a commitment to it was him. She was wrong for different reasons and I won't be friends with her because of that. But he chose to cheat.

You really can't just assume a women having an affair with your husband is the slut. Your husband could be the cheating scumbag taking off his wedding band, lying tell you he has to work extra hours or go out of town on a business trip.

In that case, if the woman has no clue the guy has a wife or girlfriend, she's assuming he is single. So if she believes she is sleeping with a single guy and wouldn't sleep with a married man KNOWINGLY, she is not a slut. It's not her fault the guy is a lying prick.

Pretty sure I said a page or 2 back that the guy is a douchebag and an smurf for cheating, and that he's definitely just as guilty.

Then why not simply say the same about her? That's my point you simply negatively label the girl, but don't really do the same to the guy o.O? And before you say it, douchebag or smurf does not have the same impact as slut.

Alright so she's a douchebag. But either way, she's in the wrong, correct? It just depends on your word or "label" of choice.

No, because cheating isn't always black and white to me, plus I don't know the particulars of the situation 'i.e. age, what she was being told,her mental state'. That's why I tend not to judge people doing this, because I have no idea what is going on.

Well that's why I said in my other post that if she is under the impression that he is single, she's not in the wrong. I don't see what age has to do with it. And mental state......it really depends I guess. Most people know that cheating/helping someone cheat is wrong.
