It's where your intestines stay asleep after being sedated and it causes you to bloat with gas. Nothing really makes it go away but time

They wouldn't let me eat until I farted because of that, yea I went without food for a few days, I was NOT happy haha. I guess it is better than having that though.

LOL it did suck. I was on a liquid diet and couldn't even handle liquids. It was awful. Low blood sugar and trying to deal with a brand new human was really difficult.

I think it was nearly a week until I got regular food   Even then it was jello and thick soups for a while. I was on clear liquids for what seemed like forever! And it sucked because I'd drink it, then it'd come right back up

OMG I'm scared now.
I've been put under for lots of stuff including a D&C, but that has never happened to me.
Will it be different during a c-section? That sounds so incredibly painful

It's just a risk when you have major surgery   Not common, but it does happen.

No, I don't think so since you aren't being sedated.

How long were you sedated for?

About 6 hours. Surgery was only like 10 minutes though.

Normally one wouldn't be under so long for a c-section right? How long should I expect to be out assuming everything goes well?
Thank you for being so helpful.

Oh yeah 6 hours is not the norm lol. I was told that it would (well, normally  ) take about 15 minutes. I know that I was being sedated (the doc yelled the time) at 11:20, and B was born at 11:25. So that can kind help giving you an idea of how long.

Oh ok that makes me less scared.
Thank you so much for answering all of my questions. I know this is my second c-section so I shouldn't be so nervous lol.
