I think how open it is when you're not pregnant depends on where you are in your cycle. I looked it up and it says it can be more open around the time you ovulate.

My midwife says that sometimes the cervix will stay partially open after having a child. Also if you're close to ovulation the cervix will open.

It was open probably about a fingertip...I'll check again in a few days to see if it's closed, in case I'm just ovulating (I have no idea when I'm supposed to ovulate) At least it sounds like I'm normal.

Google scared me

Well, I would think it always has to be at least slightly open, for the purpose of menstruation and allowing sperm through...

Google is evil lol. That's why I never google things about health. You always end up with the worst answers.

I used to be on the Nuva ring, so sticking my fingers around my cervix was a normal thing for me, and it always seemed like a tiny tiny opening...like a pinhole, almost...the other night, my finger actually went in. Freaked the living smurf out of me. lol

When i was going through my last MC I was having contractions and told my cervix was open. Ever since, it has been a fingertip. Just the very tip is slightly open. I was always closed and hard prior to the MC. I think for some people it can be normal, since my GYNO said everything felt normal and never brought it up even though I can feel it.
