My cat has worms

posted 17th Nov
I have no idea where she keeps getting them from but I am 26 almost 27 weeks pregnant and she sleeps with me and kisses me. She is a very affectionate cat and I have treated her time after time and she continues to get them. I don't know what to do and I am scared that i could possibly catch them as well. How likely is that?

i know it's extremely possible to catch worms from animals. when i was in high school, i had pinworms present in my poo (sorry, tmi!) and the doctor said i could have caught them from our cats or dogs. our dogs didn't have them and our cats were outside cats so we never could see if they had worms, but we treated them anyways.

My cat does spend the majority of her time outside she hardly comes inside except at night to sleep with me.

That's why she keeps getting them. You should talk to the vet about prevntative treatment.

I definitely would stop sleeping with her especially if she's been outside all day then comes inside you never know what they get into outside >.< call a vet about the worms!

deworm her then give her monthly worm treatments, as long as you dont step in the poop you will be ok

i agree with the others i would not sleep with the cat anymore. i have cats also that are indoor/outdoor and the best wormer that i have found is horse/cow wormer, the cat wormer does not work as well. the livestock wormer such as ivermectin paste takes care of all worms. but i would have someone else such as a friend or family member give it to her. u only need the amount of the size of a pencil eraser.

Probably shouldn't sleep with an outside cat period. I posted about my cats earlier, and I got positive responses but mainly because she's an inside cat. Anyway to convert her inside?
