Photographers...

I'm writing a "what to expect during your newborn session" PDF to give to parents.

Here is what I have so far.

What should I add/remove/change/change order of/etc?

-About a half hour before you arrive, I will set up a space heater to make it nice and cozy for baby! I try to get it up to about 85 degrees, so even in the colder months, you will want to wear a tank top under your jacket.
-The session will last anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. It’s not uncommon for babies to need 2-3 feedings in that time. Being a model is hard work!
-If you have anything special you would like to use as a prop, bring them along and I will do my best to incorporate them!
Clothing:
-For baby: simple onesies are fine, I usually photograph them naked or with just a diaper and a diaper cover on. If you have any special outfits, we can absolutely incorporate those.
-For mom and dad: Simple jeans or yoga pants and a black shirt is best. I also suggest bringing a spare shirt for your family shots.
-For siblings: Jeans and a simple button down or polo shirt are ideal!
*For all photographed outfits, be sure to avoid patterns.*
**Try to not “match” outfits. Instead, pick outfits that compliment each other**
For safety purposes, I will handle your bundle of joy for the session aside from feedings and comforting from mom and dad. Not to worry, I am extremely careful and knowledgeable in how to handle newborns.
-If you use them, I highly recommend bringing a pacifier to soothe your baby.
-Bring a snack! A lot of times, newborn sessions run right through normal meal times.
-We will want to do the family sessions first since baby won’t be as sleepy!
-Expect that baby will get fussy. It’s totally normal, so don’t be frustrated when baby gets worked up and doesn’t cooperate. There will be a lot of down time for you to comfort baby and calm him/her down.  

That's good but I would add something about not hovering to close that it could interfere with lighting and lighting is crucial for good photos.

I added that its a good time for mom and dad to sit back and relax.

Doesn't mean they will though. I would at least tell then in person to stay out of the light and why they need to but in a polite way. Lol

It will be easier for me to tell them to go away if they at least let me handle the baby. Lol
