Monday!! =]

I went to the doctors this morning and i'm 4 days overdue so far. I'm still exactly the same as my appointment last week 2-3 cms dilated and 70% effaced. The doctor told me today that if I don't have Ryleigh by this weekend then I am supposed to go into the hospital Monday morning at 8am to be induced.    Its kinda sad that i'm not going to be a May mommy anymore & now i'll be a june mommy if she doesnt come before tomorrow but... oh well I guess. I'm a little nervous about the whole going to the hospital thing. I would rather go because I was contracting and in pain already then go in there so they can make me be in pain. Anything you girls recommend doing before I leave for the hospital monday morning?? OR anyone want to share their story of the day they were induced?! Maybe it will make me feel a little more comfortable with the whole thing.

OH Good Luck!! This is my labor story.
So after fighting with L &D i finally got a bed. They gave me this little pill behind my cervex every four hours and they did that three times. after the second one i was dialated to a 2. They were considering giving me another one and when they checked me i was dialated to a 4. the contractions were getting stronger and more uncomfortable by that point so they gave me a cocktail of morphine and fenergin via my IV. I was pretty much out of it for a couple hours. Around 1 they came to check me again and i was dialated to a 5 and so my dr broke my water. now this is where the fun began. within two minutes i was having contractions topping 180 on the monitor. the nurse began to get my epidural ready. about 15 mins later i told her i felt like i had to do a #2.... so she told me to hold on and checked me and my son was coming down the birth canal. so yeah, 5cm to crowning in 30 mins. she then told me that my dr was NOT AT THE HOSPITAL AND I HAD TO WAIT. thus started the longest 18 mins of my life. my nurse and husband kept telling me not to push and i really did try not to but i couldn't stop some of them. my hubby says i just kept apologizing for pushing. my nurse told me that she didn't get paid enough for me to push him out without the dr there so i had to wait. it was pretty funny despite the pain. she finally sat on my calfs so that i would pull up into the pushing position. finally the dr arrived and three contractions later my son was on my tummy. the dr let my husband catch the baby and put the clamps on the cord and then cut the cord. i got a 2nd degree tear. My son is very healthy and happy (for the most part) I love him to pieces!!! (Pics later!!)

well I wrote this big long labor story for you, then I went to post and it didn't post, so I tried to go back and it was gone!! but good luck, and I was induced with my first, and the only advice that I have for you is don't eat prior to going in, I ate breakfast before I went in to be induced, and when my contractions really hit I threw it all back up. I would have rather been hungry for a few hours. and 2nd if you don't know what it feels like to have to push (I didn't check to see if this was your 1st or not) when you feel like you gotta poop, that means tell somebody you have to push. I didn't know that, and my Dr. almost didn't make it back in the room to deliver my baby. good luck, and hopefully that baby will come this weekend!! *Labor Dust*

Total bummer that we're June moms now! Although maybe we'll get lucky and they'll come tonight or tomorrow! If not, then Sunday and Monday it is!

Thank you!   Did you not end up getting to have your epi since you were ready to push before she got it ready???   I really hope that doesnt happen to me!

Lol thank you!   I was thinking I was going to eat a big breakfast but I guess I won't now lol. I read other places that people said to eat before you went because the hospital won't allow you to eat when you get in there. And.. this is my first so no.. I didnt know what it felt like to push!   I hope I end up having her this weekend too but, I really doubt it! Thanks for the labor dust & advice though

no problem! and I heard the same thing about eating before you go in there. and some people may not have a problem with it, but I will stick with not eating before I go in! I would suggest eating a BIG dinner! good luck!!
