cameras

i've only ever had a point and shoot digital camera, and I don't use any editing software. i barely ever even get pictures printed..

but SO thinks we should get a nice camera because of the baby, and we have an LO who's 4, and we wants to get him in sports and whatnot..

i love the Nikon 1. I don't know why, nor do i know ANYTHING about it lol does anyone have one? Or what is a good camera to get that isn't super expensive and is easy to use?

I have a nikon. My camera was bought used for $280, it is originally about $600. It's confusing at first but it gets easier. I have the Nikon D40x
