I just can't get into this playgroups thing...maybe cause my son is still so young.

Yeah, I just don't normally like other people's kids... unless I'm at work! (I'm a teacher and I love my students.)

I feel like other moms are competitive and really like to push their ideas of "the correct way to parent" most of the time.

I'm the same way lol I've always felt uncomfortable around kids and even now as a mom I feel still weird dealing with other people's kids...I just smile at them and try to keep it moving lol

I don't have many many friends, but the ones I have have been close to lifelong, or for years. About half have kids, half don't. I still relate well to both. I was pleasantly surprised. I expected to lose friends when I got pregnant. I suppose this is my good karma for keeping up with my friends who had babies even younger than I did (while they were in HS even!)

My son's birthday party is tomorrow and I am just starting to realize something about my friend status lol. Only 6 people have rsvp-ed and 4 of them are moms. I just realized since I've become a mom i have had less time to waste on people who aren't real friends. kwim? So yeah, i am a mom with few friends who are mostly mothers.

My two best friends in the world are gay so no kids there.
