watching...

I will be having a homebirth in Jan.
we plan on my daughter being here..but my mother will also be here, so between her and my husband someone will be able to watch her/distract her/comfort her etc.. .. she will be almost 3. I also plan on having my mother in law on stand by to take her somewhere just in case it gets too intense for her or myself.
I think she will be ok though..shes really excited and understands whats going on and whats going to happen.

Not personally, but there are sooo many home birth videos on youtube with young children. They are either super excited or don't care at all. I plan to have my Dd there for any future children.
I don't scream in labor except for pushing so she will be fine.

My son has no idea nor could he care about what is going on .. ideally I would like my MIL to keep an eye on my son, but that is if I don't labor quickly

I didn't make a peep with my son, focused all of my energy.. I loove the YouTube videos with siblings! The only thing I don't want to be angry or irritated and have him around that..

We went to a birth center first but it was still too similar to a hospital for me. This is my last baby, I want the complete opposite experience as my first

I understand. My mother will be coming down for the month, she lives 12 hours away... but has missed the births of all but 1 grandbaby, so shes gung ho she isnt missing this one! Plus.. she will also be here for support if my husband sucks at it like he did with my 1st haha.

I felt the same way about our birthcenter here too.
it had cold hard floor, a hospital bed, and flourescent (sp?) lighting...only nice part was a family room right outside, it was soundproofed and the tubs..but I decided no to that 1/2 way through the tour.

The one i looked at has big queensize beds and a couch in the room, with a bathroom and tub and a kitchen where people make food. It looks like a home ya know.

that could be nice then.
I just got my birthing kit in the mail, so its becoming so surreal that I will be having this baby at home. Its a really comforting feeling....

we may end up having more birthing centers here in the future though, hopefully more homey ones..our midwives may be" outlawed"here pretty soon. Its such bullsmurf
