35-36 weeker
posted 16th Nov
I went into preterm labor on Monday and dilated to 3 cm. I was given fluids to stop the contractions and was sent home. My OB put me on bed rest until term. I went back to L&D yesterday and had dilated to 4 cm. I also have a urinary tract infection. I lost my daughter last November to undiagnosed heart defects, and her first birthday was Sunday night. I had no signs of dehydration, no infection, so the contractions may have been stress induced. Today is one year since the day she stopped breathing and was diagnosed. Sunday is one year since she passed. I am nervous about going into preterm labor again, and having a preemie in the NICU. My OB also said I could go to Thanksgiving dinner at my family's house, and I will be exactly 36 weeks. If your child was born at 35-36 weeks, how long (if any) was their NICU stay? What issues did they have? What was their birth weight?
I understand that I could be at 4 cm. for weeks and could have her closer to my DD. I was at 4 cm. for a week with my first. I also understand that even term babies may end up in the NICU.

He was born 10 hours into my 36 week. He was 6 lbs 11 oz and only went to the nicu because of a severe case of jaundice he was there 7 days.

DD was born at 36 weeks 6 days I believe. She did not have to go to the NICU but something happened during her birth that I still don't understand. She was 7 lbs even.

DS was born at 36wks weighting 6lb 2oz. Was in NICU for 2wks for RDS bc his lungs were immature. Came hone still had lil bouts of sleep apnea but hes perfectly healthy now

My son only measured 35 weeks due to intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) and he did no NICU time. He was 6lbs 13oz (he also had a vanishing twin which absorbed into his placenta causing extra nutrients to him, explaining why he weighed so much at only 35 weeks).

The boys were 33 weekers, no NICU time. Came home 4 days after being born (because I had to stay the extra two days, not them). That doesn't happen always though. Every situation is different.

A 35 weeker went home yesterday as I was leaving. He had no NICU stay, just a little jaundice.

Yeah the boys had jaundice, and we had to take them in to see the Pedi every day the first week, but they never had to have the treatment for the jaundice. They were both right at 5 lbs when they were born.

My son was 36 weeks 2 days and was 6 lbs 1 oz. He went home with me after only 24 hrs.
My daughter was born at 36 weeks 3 days and was only 5 lbs 3 oz. She had to spend an extra 24 hrs for a tiny bit of jaundice. But she roomed with me the whole time.
I didnt have steroid shots with either child.

My water broke and my son was rapidly born premature at 35weeks , 0days. He weighed 5 lbs 1oz.
He was given good apgar scores and they sent him to my postpartum room despite my concerns about his breathing. I basically demanded that another neonatologist evaluate him. It's a good thing I did because he was immediately taken to the NICU and diagnosed with RDS.
He ended getting discharged 2 weeks later and is now a happy, healthy 17lb 6 month old.
