help me gas stove

I dropped a pot on the stove while cooking and it knocked the flame out I though the burner was off and it wasn't 20 mins later I don't feel well and I'm stuffy so I couldn't smell it I walked in the kitchen to grab water and smell the gas it's offal so DD and I went to the neighbors what should I watch for? I threw up and DD is acting sleepy but it is her bed time so I guess that's normal how long should I stay gone? The windows are opened.

You need to call the fire dept and get the CO2 read.

this, a gas line blew next to my house during the summer and we had to leave for the whole day until the fire dep gave the OK to go back home

I would still call them and have them check. Especially with a baby in the house. 20mins is a long time.

Call the FD!! Its not like you are just messing with them and nothing is wrong. Alaways be safe rather then sorry, its what they are there for!!

i would def call the fire dept to come and check it out. that's what they're there for. i'd stay gone until they OK it. good luck!

I grew up with a gas stove and we eventually learned how to relight the pilot - but if it was out for 20 mins, definitely get them to come at least take a reading.

Turns out a guy DH and. I went to Hs with a fire fighter on base my brother shot him a msg he told us all the fd could do was check the levels and tell us when it was safe to go home. He said open the windows turn a.c. off turn on fans and vents and leave which I was already at the neighbors we stayed out till about midnight and the smell was gone he said it would be fine he said we only needed to let it air out for an hour but he asked the higher up and they said 30 mins would be fine.   so now I have to pay better attention and I slept in dds room so I could hear her if she had any issues.
