He drank a few beers a few weeks ago but we were around all his friends until he sobered up. (I made them stay just in case.)

I already had plans to go without him because he had to work. It's like a bar/Mexican restaurant.

lead by example. if he's a mean drunk, then stop drinking alongside him.. if he sees you drinking and you're banning him from it it'll just make him resent you..

Our group of friends meets at this place that's a bar/Mexican restaurant once a month. So we'd be going to that. I don't drink either.
