There goes the holidays.

Things are so smurfed up right now.
And I feel like a total smurf mom.
We're totally broke, behind on all our bills, and now can't afford any food for Thanksgiving, and nothing at all for DD for Christmas. This is breaking my heart.
I'm just gonna go cry now.

Well, y'know...the holidays aren't about money or gifts.

any family that you guys could celebrate with?..and do they not have churches or the salvation army where you can sign up to get a gift for you chid?

Well we don't have family either.
And either way, it would still be nice to be able to get her at least something.

How 'bout babysitting or something? Having yourself a little yardsale? There's all sorts of facebook yard sale sites... sell some stuff?

Nope, no family.
And not anywhere around here. Everything's way out of town and we'd have no way there and back. ):

Seriously, though. People put way too pressure on getting gifts and big fancy meals during the holidays. It's about spending time with the people you love.

And this is coming from someone who grew up without christmas or thanksgiving.

I do babysit, but I just started, and I'm getting paid through Chasi.
She hasn't even sent in the paperwork yet, and after that, it could take up to 8 weeks to get paid.
And we have nothing to sell, lol.
We're pretty bad off right now.

OR!!!have your daughter right a letter to santa claus and some post offices have a program where people pick a letter and buy that for the child...just throwing things out there!

There are options

You could call 211.org and ask them about places offering thanksgiving fixings for families low on cash during the holidays. And ask about a santas helper or gift helping..I know my state has an agency that works with the welfare office to help kids get presents. How old are they? What are they into?
