Not without help.

But anyways, I don't agree with leaving a young child alone, ever. I don't even leave LO alone so I can pee. When he was little, he choked all the time. I didn't want to leave the room and have him choke and not know. Now that he's bigger, he climbs. He eats everything. And sticks fingers into stuff. Just too many things that could happen in a matter of seconds. People tell me I'm over protective

No offense but who are you to judge? You leave your baby and go 3 flights of stairs to take a dog out? Why not strap him to you? What if someone goes in and gets him? A fire? He flips his swing? Accidents happen no matter the age or place.

As for not having scissors in your car. I have them in a plastic box under my seat as well as a first aid kit, food, water, a flash light and blanket. Why? Bc accidents happen.

Stop being holier than thou. You are no better than her

Yep, LO is 15 months. It can be a pain sometimes, like when I take the dogs out and have to juggle 25 pounds of baby and a very excited 100lb dog. lol. but I really think he would break a leg or something if he was left alone. So I'm perfectly fine takin him everywhere with me! It'll be even better when he can walk next to me.

I will say it again, for like the 4th or 5th time   I NEVER said I was perfect. HOWEVER there is a big difference in running outside for a few minutes and leaving your kid alone for 10+ minutes and not even checking on them. That is all I have said, over and over all along.

My only reasoning for not taking him, is because she HAS pulled me and my husband face first down the stairs before. It's quite scary sometimes.

Yeah she never leaves my sight unless she's napping. Or I'm in a therapy session.

The door wasn't opened because cars were driving and she didn't want her jumping out.

While I think 10 minutes is excessive this poor woman has more guilt than anyone should ever have. It was a mistake, and I'm sure her kids are always close by now.

I would never think a 5 year old would strangle themselves with a seat belt. 2? Maybe. 5? No.

My cousin's classmate in first grade strangled herself with belts because she was trying to make a swing in her room. She was up there for 15 minutes at 6-7 years old. Is it that mom's fault? No. Accidents happen, no one thinks that their 5-6-7 year old is gonna get themselves strangled.

It's tragic.

I just don't get why she didn't ever check on her.

What if she was wrong and her judgement of time has messed up because of going through such a tragic experience. What it it was only 2-3 min. That makes it all better?

I will say it again. You leaving your 7 month old 3 flights up the stairs is not any better.

Probably a momentary lapse in judgement on her part. I think we are all guilty of those.

A lapse in judgment. I don't think it's any reason to call her lazy.
I wouldn't expect a 5 year old to strangle themselves in a car, their room, anything. It's that age where a lot of parents feel they are safe to play on their own.

I don't think it's anywhere NEAR as stupid as the mom who put her kid on the railing at the zoo then WATCHED as he go mauled to death.
She hung him over wild animals, though there are signs all over the zoo that say to not touch the railings, and then when he fell in, she didn't go after him.

You can bet on anything that if my child ever fell in habitat for dangerous animals, my ass would follow her right the smurf in.
