Back pain.

posted 16th Nov
Since I was about 30 weeks I have gotten pain off and on in my back. It's only on my left side and it starts around my ribs and down to my hip - it radiates around my side and onto the top of my bump sometimes.
I am now 38 weeks and tonight I have been having it every few minutes like contractions and no position makes it feel better when it's hurting and it brought me to tears earlier. I know my kidneys are fine as I'm high risk and get my urine tested twice a week, I actually got it tested today.
My question: Can you get contractions that high up in your back? and only in one side? Although it can spread to the other side a little but predominantly in my left side and my belly gets hard every time I stand up.

Man it's hard to shove all the info into as short a topic as possible, lol.
Thank you!

Can you time them?
I was always told to ring in when they are 5 minutes apart lasting 2 minutes each.

My contractions were mainly in my back as DS was back-to-back!

I'm not timing but I can tell they are totally irregular - I was just wondering if they can be one sided? If they are contractions it is veerrrryyy early so not going to go calling anyone just yet, lol. Plus I want my own bed tonight!

It can be, or just be braxton hicks.
Definitely go to sleep, just in case it is the real thing you need to sleep while you can actually sleep through them. I didn't and I regretted it after four days of labour and no sleep!
Mine started off really irregular, maybe every half hour to an hour, then they slowly got closer together and more intense/longer.
Exciting stuff!

Haha, thanks hun. It is all pretty exciting! I can not believe how cool I am about it now - was a smurfing mess thinking about labour about 2 months ago. Just can't wait now   But trying not to read in to every ache and pain!
All I do is eat and sleep now!

Aw it isn't that bad, women wouldn't do it all over again if it wasn't worth it. Just think you'll he a mum soon, whether or not this is for real, you said they won't let you go past your due date
