car seats for a 3 and 5 year old

are they too young for booster seats? the ones that seat belt in? what kind of car seat is your kids in and what are their ages?

cameron is 4.5 and we have the graco nautilus 3-1.. this way when he gets older and outgrows it, it turns into a booster

I think its 4 and 40lbs before they can use a high back booster. But they should be in a 5 point harness until they reach the limits of the seat. I just bought both of my kids the Diono RXT seats.

The 3 year old is too young for the seatbelt booster, the 5 year old is not.

My kids are 7 and 4. My 4 year old is in a high back booster (either the evenflo OR the graco nautilus (we took the straps off)). My 7 year old is in a backless booster but he's almost tall enough to just be belted.

Your 3yo is way too young for a high back booster, IMO...the 5yo would be a personal choice. Our 5yo is harnessed in a Britax Frontier 85.
