I've been seeing all these families on craigslist and all these other websites and they are literally begging people to adopt their families for Christmas and so on..
How do you ladies feel about this?

It doesn't affect me. So I don't care..

It's ok if they desperately need it and want to provide a good holiday for their kids.
It's not ok if they don't really really really need it, which I have a feeling a lot of them just want free stuff.

not cool at all... while some seem Legit... most of those are not... there are plenty of places those family's can go to get help for the holiday season and all year long they don't have to resort to CL. Heck that would make me want to adopt them less..

Its annoying but I am one of those people who think Christmas gifts aren't important.

I feel like a lot of them are trying to scam people.
I've seen it happening on our local FB groups...and they're stupid because in the group they're like "OMG We're so poor" and you click on their FB and their smurf is public and you can see a post from like a couple of days ago with them showing off something they have bought -___-

I do get that some families are truly in need though. But I would be the one bitch that required proof of necessity before helping. Because nowadays people will take advantage.

It makes me feel sad for them---unless they're asking for like, outrageous gifts. A couple gifts for the kids and a nice meal wouldn't be excessive, but I'd hope the aren't con artists. Never know.

I like being nice and helpful, but I would never open my home to someone needing to be adopted for Christmas -- Maybe I put to much stock into not trusting strangers, but dammit, I don't trust stranges.

I honestly don't know how to feel about it. There are tons of families out there that really are in need, but at the same time there are tons of scam artists out there as well. As much as I would love to help someone in need, you really don't know who to trust. Especially, if it's on craigslist.

I'm torn. If it's a family who is truly in need, I feel for them and hope they get some help (though, I don't think hundreds of dollars in toys is an effective way to help a family who is truly in need).

But I can't stand hearing stories of people scamming others.

Persoanlly i would never do it! I think its embarassing. Presents is not about Xmas..I understand parents want their children to have something, but if children were raised right they would know that their parents still love them. I cant afford Xmas my kids know it, they are not mad or haten on me. Society needs to stop judging parents if they cant afford holiday. Its a fricking joke
