homebirth or birthcenter?

posted 16th Nov
so i really want a home birth BUT, i have to admit i loved being at the hospital away from chaos for a day or so to relax and just bond with the new baby. so this is stearing me away from homebirth because i know once i deliver i will be thrown back into everyday life. lol

but if i deliver at a birthing center i get the "homebirth feel" and i get to have a water birth like i want... the only thing is i wont be seen for a while because i have to take an orentation i cant get in until the first of Dec. and then i make an appt.

if i go with the homebirthing midwife i can get in on the 27th, she already made me an appointment to confirm pregnancy and all that stuff. idk what to do.

i want a home birth... but my kids, would just make it hard, we dont live in a HUGE place so i dont want to be too loud either since i deff was loud during my natural hospital birth.

or i caould birth in a hospital that has laboring tubs and stuff like that but i can BIRTH in the water like i would want. so what would do.

Why does it matter about the waiting for the birth center? You have a LONG time. It won't set you back in any way. There's not much they're gonna do now anyway.

I'm like you. I kinda feel like I'm on vacation in the hospital haha. They wait on you. At home I'd have to do stuff :p

Birthcare for the break lol.
I was planning a home water birth but had a mini freak out in labour and went to hospital. I wish I had just stayed home because she almost turned into a car birth lol. I had her 2 minutes after getting to hospital, I didn't get my Waterbirth and had her standing up literally the second I walked into my room

I'm having a home birth and I'm really excited about it
I want my son to be there too so it can be a family thing.

But, if YOU don't want a home birth, go with the birthing center! I waited until I was like 12 weeks for my first appointment, no biggie

Oh yeah and I'm definitely making SO take a week off from work and stay home with our 2 yr old, so it'll actually be better for me at home lol I'll be able to take care of the baby and not be interrupted by a million nurses.

What do you plan in doing with your other kids? I found it really distracting that my kids were around, I couldn't concentrate and found my contractions were hard to deal with. Which is probably half the reason I decided to go to hospital. My kids were almost 6 and 19months. I laboured during the day and fast so I had to call my SO home from work half an hour away and he was supposed to take the kids to my dad but there was no time for that so we got my brother to come over and we went to hospital. (Our hospitals are pretty much the same as birthcare, promoting natural births however YOU want it, and we have midwives not OBs.)

If I was in labour in the middle of the night when the kids were in bed I would've stayed home becaus the kids would've been in bed and not buzzing around lol

I have done a birth center and two hospitals. The hospitals were a mistake and horrible. But I LOVED the birth center. I would do it again but there isn't one close. So we are doing a UC at home this time around. Well as long as I keep up on everything being good to go.

Omg I cannot imagine being in labor for more than 5 minutes while dealing with my son. If that happens to me I will be babygating him into the living room and finding a quiet place until someone shows up to help with him lol
I really want him to be there for the moment his brother is coming out though.

My next pregnancy we've decided on a birth center. I'd love a home birth, but neither of us feel completely comfortable with it so a birthing center is a great compromise.

I loved my homebirth. It was amazing and not chaotic at all. It helped the kids so much. the transition was a breeze!
