Would you be pissed?

Okay so last night SO and I decide to take his family, as sort of an Olive Branch to the movies. Long story. We figured it would be a good idea to get the family together and to not have to talk. Lol. I don't get along very well with his "mother".
Anyhow, we took his mother, aunt, her daughter, his little brother and ourselves to the movies.
We spent over $70 for the tickets themselves.
Well, we get in and during the movie, there was a group of people in front of us so loud and obnoxious it was ridiculous. Like, we literally couldn't hear the movie. They up and down, very distracting and rude. Made the movie miserable. After our attempts to quiet the group were failed, SO says we should leave the theater.
We meet out and the lobby and complain to the staff, who were also no help.
SO's mother says she's going to see what she can do.
She leaves, and ten minutes later she said, "All they offered to do were to give us refund tickets, for any movie to use whenever we want." She had 6 of them.
So, I'm thinking cool, we can go do something for a little bit, come back and choose a different movie tonight, or we can just postpone it until tomorrow.
EXCEPT, SO's mother didn't give the tickets back to us, or even redistribute them to the rest of us, SHE KEPT THEM AND PUT THEM IN HER PURSE.
Excuse me? WE payed for them.
When SO said something, she says, "Oh well, I'm the one who got them back, didn't I?"
So, SO and her got into it in the middle of the lobby because she refused to give them back.
She ended up leaving with her sister and her daughter and his brother.... WITH the tickets.
SERIOUSLY? I'm beyond pissed.
We payed around $70 for them because going to the movies is expensive, and with an infant and the holiday's coming up, we certainly couldn't afford to just drop $70 off to his mother like that. We wanted it to be a fun, family night.
His mother is saying stuff like, if you couldn't afford it, why'd you take us at all? Well, because we thought we'd enjoy the movie, not just give you $70 worth of movie tickets and we sure didn't anticipate not even sitting through the movie.
Would you be mad?
What would you do?
I'm pretty pissed. I feel like we just wasted that money..

Oh fuc k that. She needs to give the tickets back OR the money. If she doesnt, let her know you'll be contacting the cops. You won't actually need to because she wont want to get into all that but it should scare her into doing the right thing. What a massive smurf >.<
