Anyone have a tattoo on their shin?

I got a tattoo on my shin yesterday. It's a decent sized tattoo and about 6-7 total hours of work was put into it. Complete color. But today, it's extremely sore. It hurts to walk on my leg and it's pretty swollen. Also, it's red all around my tattoo.

I have 4 other tattoo's, and there was a lot of redness around those as well. I'm pretty sure that's just the way my skin is. But none of my other tattoos have ever been THIS sore the day after. Then again, I've never had a tattoo on my leg before. Is this amount soreness normal? Is the reason it's so sore because of the amount of work put into it and the spot? TIA.

It's not really the swelling and redness I'm worried about. Just the amount of pain.
