What Would You Do?
posted 16th Nov
My baby's father walked out on me the day I told him I was pregnant. I was thinking if I should invite him to see the birth of our daughter. Even though he left us I still think he has somewhat of a right to see his daughters birth. I think their are good reasons to come and good reasons for him to not come. What do you think? Would you invite you ex fiancé that walked out on you when he found out you were pregnant to see your child's birth?

Yes because its his child too.

No. Honesty, if he'd wanted to be involved, he should have figured out a way to be. To me it would be too late.

It depends on a lot of things. Does he want to be there? Is he going to be involved with the child? Do you think it would stress you out or make you uncomfortable for him to be there?
ETA: BD did not come to watch my daughter be born. I wouldn't change it, either. He is also not involved at all.

No. My daughters sperm donor wasn't around for my pregnancy and there was no way in hell he was coming to the birth.

I would, If he doesn't want to come he wont.

I would invite him to the hospital but I don't think I would want him in the room with me. He lost that privileged when he left.

Not to mention, you're going to be going through a lot with the labor and delivery. Would you really want him in the room? I think that would cause a huge distraction to me. And for me, I needed to concentrate

If he eventually comes around during the pregnancy and offers support, then yes I would. If he's totally out of the picture by the time you deliver then no.

if he hastn been involved then no, i would let him know that you had her, and that he wcould come to the hospital to meet his daughter if he would like to. but to the labor, no.

Same with me. If he tried to come, by that time it would have been too late.
DD is 11 weeks and he's never seen her. Fine by me!
