Do you use baby powder?
posted 16th Nov
Just curious how many mommy's out there use baby powder for their baby's. My DD is 4 almost 5 months old and I just discovered how nice baby powder is on her skin, especially on her neck. What do you use baby powder for? And if you don't use it, why not?

I've never used it. I don't know why, I don't really know the purpose of it. It smells good though.

It's a breathing hazard for little ones and is not recommended. You can use corn starch though. Works just as well with no harmful particles in the air and fewer chemicals.

Yup, that's the only thing I used with both my boys. I never tried any cream on my youngest yet but with my oldest it would give him such bad diaper rash. But I actually use cornstarch powder because it's unscented.

Yep, I used it a lot. When DS was small he would get diaper rash and chafe, and creams just aggravating it. The baby powder was great for soaking up moisture without burning him. Its also good in the folds of their skin when they have rolls to keep them from getting a rash there. He's 4 now and still likes it sprinkled on his booty every now and then lol.

Neer used it. Heard they can inhale it and they could die. Or something like that. Can't remember.

I used it. I wouldn't shake it on her neck, though. She could breathe it in.

It can cause yeast infections in girls and they can inhale it. I don't use it, but my mom does.

I used it on Novali's neck, underarms and diaper area when it was hot out. I never heard of it being a hazard and honestly didn't know! I never just shook it down on her, though, I'd always put it on my hands and rub it on her. Is that safer??
