I guess that's a good response when you have nothing intelligent to say to back up your point that doesn't involve calling someone a twat or stereotyping. It's cool. I am used to that response.

Sorry it took me awhile to respond. I was busy homeschooling, volunteering, and actually contributing to society.

Redneck is racist, but I don't care. I'm PROUD to be a Redneck because it means I busted my ass for what I have. I didn't have dear old Uncle Sam provide for me.

I would rather be a Redneck than a Communist!

I'm sorry but that's bullsmurf. I did not read/respond because I'm tired as smurf and I've literally gone in circles on this topic for a week now and I'm annoyed with it. I've got lots of intelligent points I could add. Not feeling like discussing something does not mean I don't have any intelligent points to offer.

And how dare you assume that I don't contribute to society. You know nothing about me at all. And I never called you any names. So bite me.

Also, I'm not on gov assistance and have not ever been in my entire adult life.

If you have intelligent points on the topic, why haven't you posted any? You don't have any facts or statistics to back up what you say. You only call people names.

Omg stfu...what part of I'm done with this don't you understand? I have posted facts and intelligent points. You just don't see them as intelligent because you don't agree with them. So stop wasting your time. Do not respond to me again cuz you annoy the smurf out of me.

Racist slurs referring to white people don't bother me. Of course, I've never had to go through what many other races have, so I can't compare. However, this conversation wasn't about race or religion. I'm one of the few people I know that really does completely remove religion and race from politics, and that includes the atheists I know. My religion has exactly zero percent influence on my political leanings and beliefs. I use common sense. Common sense dictates that socialism cannot work with humans because there will always be power hungry megalomaniacs that will reduce society to the have's and have-not's, and there will always be those that want something for nothing. When you take away any incentive for hard work and try to create a level playing field, all you're doing is creating a generation of lazy adults incapable of taking care of themselves.

I really don't agree. I think capitalism is far worse. It allows the greediest to remain greedy while the poorest remain poor.

Just responding because I annoy you and I think it's hilarious. Annoy one Commie a day and I've done my job.

Did I even allude to the fact that you don't contribute to society? Nope. Not once. I was simply pointing out that I do care about people other then myself. That would be you jumping on the defense. I also never said anything about you being on assistance. Though, I think it's interesting that you'd point that out being that you're a proponent of assistance and those on it.

Just because I'm a proponent of it doesn't mean I myself use it. I qualify for it, yes, but I won't even try to get it unless I hit rock bottom.

I guess my experience with it is different. My father grew up a very poor army brat, but worked very hard and gained a lot of wealth. He raised us knowing we had to do the same. My husband grew up literally dirt poor. His family lived off of ham and pimento cheese sandwiches for months at a time and they clothed themselves with donations from the community. He worked hard and put himself through college and now he makes a very, very good salary. Of course there are always rich, greedy misers who do more harm then good, but that can be said for any country anywhere. There are also greedy poor people who'd rather complain and take hand-outs then work to change their circumstances.

There will always be people who won't work for what they have, but the majority of people actually take pride in earning what they have and would not take assistance if they didn't need it. This whole American Dream thing is sold to people and it's just simply not true. The fact of the matter is most people who are born in poverty will never break the cycle. The resources just aren't there for so many people. It's not that simple to just pull yourself up by your bootstraps. So many factors go into it. I grew up dirt poor, went to college for one year and had to quit going because I couldn't afford it anymore. I've worked minimum wage jobs since I was 16. I'm 22 now. I work my ass off and still come out on bottom. If I don't find a way to afford school I will always be this poor. And not everyone has the mental capacity to go to school. The whole anyone can do it theory operates on the premise that everyone is equally intelligent, has the same resources, and the same opportunities. It's completely false.

I had to when I was pregnant with my oldest because my jobs didn't offer health insurance. I am glad I had the option because it ended up being a very hard pregnancy. It didn't cover everything, but it definitely helped.

If I were to get pregnant (I'm on bc and not ttc at all) I would need medicaid. And WIC and food stamps and all of that.

While I agree with most of that, I think that the changes that need to be made aren't with capitalism or even just corporate greed. A lot of it has to do with our education system and the perversion of the American dream. People have equated success with things. People need to step back and realize that these things people are trying to sell them are not whats going to make them happy. The American dream used to be knowing you'll have enough to feed your family. Now, you need to spend $100,000 on college for a piece of paper that may not do anything for you, drive a POS BMW and have a 90 inch flat screen tv to validate yourself. It's crazy. We want it all now. We created the monster.
