Provera anyone?

posted 16th Nov
Have any of you ladies taken Provera to force start your period? If so did you have any side effects? How was the period when it started? Did your period even start from it? If not what did the doctor do? I am so nervous taking any type of medication. And I'm afraid something will go horrible wrong and it will mess up my body. I took my first pill for it this morning.

I took it many years ago and it worked.
I took it this past June and NO period.
Never had any side effects though.

That is good. Did your doctor do anything when you didn't get your period that time?

No. I didn't even bother with her after that, she doesn't take anything seriously. She gave it to me and told me to start birth control after my period came...and that was that. Said it would make me have a period. She won't get to the bottom of WHY I don't have one. Said it was because I was fat and if I lost 10% of my body weight, I'd get them back. Well, I did, and I'm in the same boat again.
I finally got a period on my own in July (after 106 days) and then 2 in August. Now nothing once again...I'm on day 80 :/

Oh man...Yeah I want to figure out WHY I'm not getting it normally. I'm not pregnant and there is nothing wrong with my thyroid. I don't have anymore stress than the usual. I wish they would make sure I don't have a cyst or something.

I took it to make me have a regular period. I took 2 a day for 10 days, then would start about 2-3 days later. Only side effect I remember is that it made me drowsy, so I took them at night.

I'm in the same boat only I've had ultrasounds and no cysts.
I'm starting to think I'm having ovarian failure or something...

My friend took it because she hadn't had a period since she was like 15 and at the time she was like 21. It worked for her, she never said anything about bad side effects though. She just said her period was VERY heavy, but I am sure that is to be expected when she hasn't had a period in so long.
