Losing teeth, and the tooth fairy?

posted 16th Nov
My daughter is 5yrs old, just started kindergarten this fall, and now God help me, she's growing up too much... she came running down the hall yesterday so excited telling me she has a tooth wiggling in her mouth, i check and sure enough its loose. and to add to that a total of THREE are loose! oh my wow....

i thought they didn't start losing until 6yrs old and beyond typically? how old was yours?

also, how much does your tooth fair leave for a first tooth? any other teeth? i feel the first tooth is a big deal so maybe sometimes its different. my mom only gave me at most $1, but hey... apparently times have changed... haha.. course i know my little girl would just be thrilled with whatever she gets. just curious what other's did. i'm thinking of making some kind of "tooth fairy pocket" to hide her tooth in for safe keeping and stuff too

Cora is 4 and has lost three teeth (due to an accident)

Tooth fairy brought 1 dollar per tooth AND a new piggy bank to keep it in

I heard some ladies give their kids 100 for the first tooth and 50 for every tooth after that. My jaw literally hit the floor

Anything over 5 dollar is too much IMO

I live in England and for my daughters first tooth I gave her £5 which I believe is around $8. I made her put it in her piggy bank though so she could spend whatever she had in there at the end if the month. It's a really exciting time. My daughter was very scared of the tooth fairy god knows why so her daddy had to put it under his pillow with a note to say it was her tooth. Lol. She later found the tooth in a box in my room and I had to explain that the first tooth was very special to mummies and daddies so we wrote a letter to the tooth fairy asking if we could buy the tooth back. Kids are so cute at this age. Oh btw my daughter was 6 when she lost hers. She has 2 more Wobblies but is now 7 xx

That is what I said. What does a 5-6 year old need with a 100 dollars?

thats too cute though! i love it! so she has only lost 1 so far and now 2 more loose at 7rs old? or has she lost more than that? is it strange that the first time my little girl gets a loose tooth she gets 3 at once?!

She has only lost one. Still waiting on the others. She keeps trying to force them out but you know the tooth fairy doesn't give money for teeth that have been pulled out so she's stopped and is know just waiting. If I was you I'd proberbly give my daughter $5 dollars for the first and $1 thereafter. Sounds reasonable. As for those that give their kids $100 WOW. < my Child doesn't even get that for her birthday. X

I just wanted to throw this out there

When I had to have teeth pulled for braces, the tooth fairy gave me more for those teeth, since it was a bit more traumatic than just losing them

That is true. I mean pulling them out yourself. I would definitely give more for ones that have come out by dentist.   xx

The most my son got for a tooth was $10. Mommy tooth fairy gave 5 but forgot to get the tooth. So I asked his dad to go get the tooth after we went to bed. He thought I meant to put the money so He got the tooth and put 5 more. My son was very happy when he got up. but they normally just get 5 for the back ones and 1 for the front.

My oldest dd now 10 yrs old, lost her first tooth at 3 yrs old. By 4 yrs old she had lost many baby teeth. By 8 yrs old she had all her adult teeth, then we had to get her 13 yr molars capped at 8 yrs old, so they dont rott out before she is an adult since they came in so early.

Its a rare thing to get them that early tho. lol

My kids no longer believe in the tooth fairy anymore, they are 10 and 4 and well lo is 9 months old so too young to even know the difference. lol But when my middle looses a tooth I just give her 20.00 bucks. lol
