Your SO accused of molestation

So on daytime talk (Steve Willow, Maury, etc) there is a molestation show at least once a week. It got me thinking. If your child came to you and said your SO inappropriately touched them, what would you do? Would you confront them first, call the cops first, kick them out first? I know those are the first 3 logical steps in my mind.

I wonder because no good mother or father keeps someone around their children they believe would molest their child, so I am assuming a lot of these cases the other parent is shocked that the one accused would even be capable of it.

Tough call, if you confront your SO first, he could make a break for it before you can get law enforcement involved, or could get violent, OR you can call law enforcement first, and end up wrongfully accusing them (however unlikely that is) if it was a misunderstanding. I'd probably call the cops first though.

that's a tough spot to be in, it could go a few different ways. but i would probably call the cops first!

reason i say that is sometimes older kids who are troubled will say that or sometimes they are coached. i would remove the child or the so until the proper investigation could be done though.

Id kick them out first then confront then call cops.

I'd call the cops first. If it was a misunderstanding DH would understand.

A kid with no prior experience to sexualization wouldn't be able to make it up, despite any mental health issues.

I would call the cops and if I had to talk to my SO about it, say "Sorry, but my child is my number one priority. I hope she's wrong, but I can't risk it."

And I'd probably kill him. Not kidding. I wouldn't be able to control myself.

I would believe my child until there was physical proof the one she accused was innocent and then I would be investing in therapy to figure out why they falsely accused that person, who coached them, etc.

I would immediately take my child to be checked out at the E.R. before telling my partner. I love him & I'm sure that would never happen but smurf dude, at the same time you can't really be 100% about anything can you?

That's a smurffy way of thinking.  

I would have DH stay somewhere else or me and the kids. We would do supervised visits. And I would seek a counselor to help me sort it out and their pediatrician and take it from there. If it was in fact the truth I would prosecute.

My sister told someone that our stepfather was touching her. My mother "thought she was lying." So my sister was living in a shelter because our mother refused to make him leave the house, and then she ran away on a sailboat with him so the police couldn't find them. I was the one that had to tell my sister- she still thought they were leaving in their condo.  
My "mother" is a piece of smurf. I wish my mom would have called the cops and kicked him out.
My sister has a therapist and living with my father now, but she has some major issues after being left like that...


I have no idea why I just went out on a rampage.. meh.. the topic made me think about it all over again. And now I wish I could find them both.
