Meeting BFs family for first time- HELP!

So, I'm meeting my boyfriends family for the first time on thanksgiving, and my boyfriend has bragged to his family about what a great cook I am, and we're going to thanksgiving dinner at their house, so now everyone expects me to be some magical chef. I need to make something really kickass so I make a good impression lol. I can make anything really, I'm just having a serious brainfart of anything "unique" to make. It can either be dinner or dessert food.

So far, I'm making either an apple pie or apple pomegranate pie, sour cream pastries, and a Double chocolate mocha trifle. Any suggestions?   Thanks!

OP I like the truffle idea and the apple/pomegranate pie! I've never even heard of it- it sounds awesome.

I've never had an apple pom pie, but I've heard they're really good....I certainly hope so! maybe I should make one as a test beforehand....I don't want to bring something gross LOL

Psh, there is no way you could ruin a pie, but yea, a trifle sounds nice too! Good luck   I bet it'll go great
