As you know, my mother battled cancer last year, during which, they found nodules on her lungs. Hers never changed size through radiation and chemo so they were determined to be benign. Scarring from pneumonia and various other lung infections can cause nodules.

I hope it is the same in her case.

I've seen nodules be nothing, and I've seen them be serious. My MIL has some benign nodules of some sort (benign= not cancer) and she is a very heavy smoker. My grandfather was 61 when he was diagnosed with lung cancer, it took him very fast  

If she's willing to do treatments in the event that it's cancer, great- but if she's going to continue to smoke, it doesn't do much for the treatments. The treatments can only begin to work if she works with them.

I hope it's nothing serious!

Is your mom in remission now?

My mom has had bronchitis many times, so maybe it is scarring from it. I just wish I could make her take everything more seriously. If she doesn't die of cancer then she'll die from another stroke or a heart attack. I'm not ready for the family battle that will happen if anything if it is cancer.

I've already asked my mom if she'll do treatments, she doesn't know. My mom has never cared about her health.. I tried to tell her to take some supplements and eat more healthy -- I told her what veggies she should be eating. She keeps saying she'll eat whatever she wants because her doctor gave her pills for the high BP, for the diabetes and for her cholesterol. Like today she got into an accident with the McDonalds drive thu window.. She's not suppose to be driving, she should be eating McDonalds a couple times a week does anyway.

Bronchitis can cause the scarring as well. I hope that it turns out to be something of that sort. My mom's were too small to even biopsy, hopefully it is the same. best of luck.
