Quoting Shhh Mommy*:" Does your toddler (more around two+) sleep in their crib or toddler bed? My sons doctor told me to put ... [snip!] ... afraid to let him CIO because it will break my heart   I hate him being upset. Do you let your toddlers CIO, if you have to. "

He's your kid. If you want to co-sleep just do it. Tell your doctor, "You do what's right for your family, we'll do what's right for ours." That's like my mantra....lol

My son moved to his own bed at 2.5, but doesn't cry it out. He sleeps in a twin and I lay with him til he is out (after stories). We have a routine and he is usually out in 15-20 mins and then sleeps on his own all night.

i let my son cio when he was less than a year old...in his crib because neither me nor my husband wanted to cosleep..and he did fine...but if you are uncomfortable with that then you should do what makes both you and your lo happy

My LO has been in a toddler bed since 17 months old. She doesn't always stay I her bed, but she's pretty proud when she makes it all night staying her "big girl bed". CIO was tough at first but it got so much easier over time. It's one of things I just absolutely had to do even though it was hard. I enjoy the snuggles of co-sleeping but I hadn't had a good nights rest in a long time and there was no good reason for me to have LO in my bed. CIO isn't for all parents, but I swear by it if done appropriately. If you do try it, give it a good and consistent effort. There's a lot of resources online too. But that's only if you decide to do it!

Honestly, take your screaming kid and lead him back to bed and he will get the point. Do you want a 10 yr old in your bed? My kid wouldn't stay in bed or crib and I had to take her back and back and it finally worked out.

My son didn't sleep in his own bed until he was 3... he never wanted to be away from someone when sleeping so i just slept with him until he was about 2 and put him in a twin bed where i could lay next to him until he was out. I didnt like listening to my baby cry and although it bed time was a little more work it worked for us. He is 5 now and i dont sleep in bed with him unless his dad is not home then he usually crawls into bed with me.

Right now I have my full size bed next to his toddler bed. He just sleeps in my bed though.

TBH I think letting a little one CIO is just mean, abusive, actually. I still co-sleep with my son, he's a little over 3.5. Some people might think he's too old, but I couldn't care less. We have a bond like no other & after working full time & hardly seeing him, I'm at peace with him sleeping in my bed all night   I have no worries that when the time comes, he'll sleep in his own bed just fine.
Follow what YOU feel is best. If you're thinking of other options, try the crib, toddler bed, maybe even try putting either of them up against the side of your bed?

Quoting Shhh Mommy*:" Well I know if his dad gets over nights that he will probably make him CIO and that scares me to death. ... [snip!] ... my bed but he still ends up sleeping with me. I dont mind at all but sometimes Id like to have a full bed to myself lol."

It is scary   Letting a LO can cause serious damage emotionally & physically. I've done a ton of research on it, it's one of those things I feel very strongly about.
Anyway, if you feel comfortable with your situation now, stick to it! Don't let your doctor try to make you feel bad about it, you know what's best. Afterall, you're the mother!
