Headaches!! GRRR.
posted 15th Nov
I have been having chronic headaches now for over two years, and I never get any answers. Often they turn into migraines and I have ended up many times in the hospital so that they could give me something strong enough to deal with the pain. I am so sick of this. I am to the point where nothing less than 3 extra strength advil will even take the edge off, there are times when I end up taking 4-5, which I know is bad, but I don't know what else to do. My doctor seems to think it's all in my head or that I'm being dramatic or something, but I'm not. I just moved to a new town not long ago, and am looking for a new doctor here, praying that he can help me get rid of them. I don't know what to do anymore, I can't take it. It gets to the point where it legit hurts to even touch my forehead, I can barely wear my hair in a pony, because after a few hours my head is killing me. Nothing works anymore, the longer I have them, the harder it is to treat them. My doctor had me on a pill for a while, which did nothing for me except make me extremely tired.. I believe it was called Zomig or something along those lines. I stopped taking it because I could not function when I was on it, and at that point had a two year old that required my undivided attention. I don't know what it could be, I'm in great health aside from that, I'm active, I eat healthy. etc. I have had my eyes checked three times in the last two years, and each time I got the same thing.. I have great vision and that's not the problem.
I know that headaches probably don't seem like that big of a deal, but it's just been so long, and so constant that I am at my witts end. It holds me back from doing so many things because I am afraid it will just cause a headache, or a worse headache, depending on the day. I'm sensitive to light, if I bounce around too much it hurts, if I wear a pony it hurts, it often hurts after working out, it hurts when I look at any kind of screen for too long, or read for too long. It hurts when I am around loud noises, etc. I don't know what to do!??!?! There are times when I will take Advil before doing stuff just in case. I try hot/cold compresses, I have tried eating different, drinking more water, head, neck and back massages, etc. It's at the point where I am more used to having a headache than not. It's soooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying. Ugh.
I guess I am just hoping that someone else has dealt with this and maybe has an idea of how I can relieve the pain, or something I could do to avoid getting them. I don't feel good about the fact that I can go through a 150 advil in about two weeks, and I doubt it's very healthy for my body. Any suggestions are welcome, I am willing to try almost anything at this point. I just want relief.
TIA!

Are you on birth control? I was on Nuva ring and found out it was triggering my migraines. I had migraines before but when I was on that I was having them for 8 days straight and maybe would go 2 days inbetween them if I was lucky. I got on imitrex and it was a life saver. Then once I got off Nuva ring I now get tem occasionally again. Ivan handle the occasional migraine but a week straight with no relief was hell. Good luck mama. I hope you find something that works for you. It is not normal or to be taken lightly. Keep looking until you find a dr who will help.

OMG I have the same problem. I went to a neurologist and the put me on zomig and it made me so sick. I was always throwing up and getting dizzy. Ive been dealing with it for about 5 years now. Ive had MRI's, EKG's, and transfusions too many times to count and no one can tell me anything. I have been to about 6 different doctors too. Ive pretty much given up, nothing OTC comes close to helping. I just sleep ALOT and that takes the edge off when there really bad. Watching to see if anyone has advice!
