Pediatric GI appointments?

I have 17month old twin boys and one of them since birth has had issues with bowel movements he is always constipated and we had to start adding miralax to his daily intake, and since 4months ago the pedi wanted me to up the amount of miralax we were giving him! But it didn't help his constipation has only gotten worse and he screams in pain when he can't go and has blood in his stools at some points! So we have him set up to see a pediatric GI and I'm just all nervous about what to except? Anyone else's LO every had to see one?

my daughter had to see one. We drove over 3 hours to get there. IT was like any other appt. Then, he ordered x rays, CT, and gave a medication that helped relax her intestines some. Appt took abotu 20 minutes.. but the medication worked wonders for her pain.

Brooklyn had problems with her bowel movements. We took her to Duke to see the GI doctor and they did xrays and gave her a enema (I think that's how you spell it  ) and after they did that, she's been fine, the times that she wasn't, we had to give her miralax.

We did the enema and all to help him have a good bowel movement to "clear him out" an it helped maybe 3 days which is why they set is up the appointment at duke, I just didn't know what to expect like test wise and if they would even do that on that appointment ! Is brook still on miralax ?

They mentioned a ct scan? I was wondering how they would do that my dh always handles them with X-rays an stuff because I get all emotional holding them and such when they are fighting and all, was the ct easy?

yea, she just laid on the board, and she went through the tube thing.

I'm wondering how my ds will do with that he was recently in the hospital for asthma and a severe rsv case an he fought his nurses sooo bad we had to hold him down for a lot of things

We were using the supository's to help her until we got the appointment but no she's not on miralax anymore.
