Court/Child Support Question.

posted 15th Nov
I was tinkering around on my online c/s account and happen to see that there's an upcoming court hearing for my son's father, failure to comply with a court order.
He's $1,497 behind, has never paid in a dime. He's also supposed to carry health insurance on my son and doesn't. And he did get a new job a few weeks ago.
I was curious as to what might happen at court? It's Monday and I'm a bit curious as to what might go on, since I'm thinking it may be best if I don't go considering the turbulence in that area right now.
Any idea?

he will go before a judge with his caseworker, the judge will ask if he is working and what not and the judge will order him to pay a fraction of the full amount he is behind, prob like $250 by 5pm that day. if he can, the judge will set another date 3 months later for an update. if he cant there will be a warrant for his arrest, or they will take him in on the spot.

They'll likely modifying based on his the income from his new job and set up a payment plan for the arrears. If he hasn't been paying health ins they'll likely order him to pay more cs and then require you to get health ins for LO

He messaged my husband earlier (I have him blocked on Facebook, a lot of drama and BS) and told him to ask me to call the Judge and have the Judge call him, because he's sick and doesn't have a ride.
What happens if he doesn't show?

sounds like a contempt hearing. they can order him to pay a fine ( which goes to you) they can suspend his license (driver, professional fishing) they can also order him 30days in jail if he cannot pay

His new job pays about the same as his last one, but he's already said that he's not going to pay, or at least that's what he told me.

Lol, this is sounding pretty good.
I just want them to do something, anything. Just want to see him held responsible for once in his life.

Oh then they might garnish his wages.

He might get a warrant if he doesn't show up

the judge ordered my childs father to come up with 1000 by 5 or spend 30 days in jail. he decided he wanted to get smart with me in front of the judge so he got ordered to 60 days in jail or 2000. funny how men come up with money when their freedom is on the line

I'm hoping they garnish. That's the only way they will ever see a hot penny out of that guy, lol. If you look at our hearing record on the website, every single one has been a continuance because of his nonsense, saying he's sick, he can't find a ride, he's got a doctors appointment, just continuing it. I'm hoping a judge will take that into consideration before allowing another.

I just looked it up for you. It is a contempt heaaring and something will be done... Judges do not like to see parents there for not paying their childsupport. he will have to answer for him not paying anything...judges hate deadbeats and they show them no compassion!!!
