Crock Pot Party Food?
posted 15th Nov
We're having a kickback at our new place on Saturday. We're doing a veggie plate, cheesecake dip and chips and dip, but I need an idea for a main food.
I would like it to be easy and low maintenance so I can hang with people at the party and tend to my kids and such. Also, kid friendly. I want to cook it in the crock pot.
so if you have good ideas for a crock pot recipe that tastes AWESOME and is super easy that I can serve at a party, that would be awesome.
It will be between 20-30 people and we have no problem eating leftovers if there are any at the end.
Thanks!

I don't have a specific recipe but meatballs are always a good idea! As is macaroni and cheese.

I would do chili or something like that.
I can't think of any other dishes that would serve/feed 20-30

I usually do a can of chilli mixed with a thing of cream cheese and use it as chip dip.
But I also liked the meatball idea.

it's not going to be a MEAL, per se. But just something for people to kind of snack on and enjoy while people hang out. There are other people bringing snacks/food.... but I kinda wanted something a LITTLE bigger to feed people.

Southwest Chicken is always good.
You can either use canned chicken or chicken breast. Canned chicken is easier but not as good.
All you need to do is put chicken, corn, black beans, salsa, rotel tomatoes, and cream cheese in the crockpot and cook on low for a few hours. Right before you serve, throw in salsa and sour cream. Serve with tortillas and chips. Makes a TON.

Little smokies!(little mini hotdog type things)you can make a bunch in a crockpot & they are kid friendly. Might not be the most healthy thing in the world but they are great with bbq sauce & as a mini meal with other snacks. Other than that you could do the chili idea, you could do a form of stew or soup

shredded chicken or meatballs

Beef samichez. Get a large beef roast, a can of beef broth & a can of condensed French onion soup (or 2) & a jar of pepperoncinis. Add some (depending on if you want it spicy or not) pepperoncinis to the bottom of the crockpot & add the roast on top. Then add enough liquid to almost cover it. Turn on high & let go for several hours. Shred beef & cook for another hour or several. Serve on French rolls with pepperoncinis & sweet peppers & mozzarella.
