For those who had holiday babies...
posted 15th Nov
I feel like trying to have the holidays and a baby at the same time is going to kill me. Obviously some of y'all survived it
My husband is like "If they (family) can't handle that we have more important things to do, screw 'em!"
But I WANT to participate in the holidays. I'm just super tired and cranky pregnant, I figure I'll be super tired and cranky post delivery too. Any tips on how to not miss out on this time of year?

find an outfit that is cute but comfortable, and don't feel bad if you can't stay as long as everyone else, just being there matters.

I had my son 3 days before Thanksgiving. they released me from the hospital on Thanksgiving. I had all my stuff at home to make desserts that I make every year.. it didn't happen. I went straight from the hospital (in my pajamas) to my friend's house (we were stationed overseas).
just being there should be enough. no one expects you to cook dinner or be the hostess.. dont worry.

My daughter was born on Dec. 19th
It was brutal but honestly it was my first baby so it was kinda good that I was shuffling around so much between christmas and new years and family events because I really didn't smurfing know how to be alone with it.

I'm real worried about... I dunno, feeling uncomfortable. Leaking from boobs and vagina in front of all these people. I know they won't know it, but I will. And then trying to figure out what to do with my first kid, trying to keep myself from policing all the family members who are gonna wanna be way too close to her. Gah. It just seems really stressful to have to go from legs in the stirrups to holiday gatherings, even though I really really want to. Maybe I'll be so tired I wont give a damn about anything.

My daughter was due on Christmas (born Dec 19 via c-section).
We just took it easy at home and let family come visit us. It was actually kind of nice because they wanted to be around for the holidays and they were also there to help me out.
I did all of my Christmas shopping online that year, too.

Abigail was born on the 21st, we just made sure everyone used hand sanitizer/washed their hands, but mostly they'd just state at me holding her.

The holiday birthdays suck, I know, mine's the day before new years and therefore a few days after Christmas ): I also expect my doc to be on Christmas Vacation somewhere when I need to deliver so that's more anxiety *sigh* I have that kind of luck!
