Do you think its dumb to have a birthday party in the summber for a kid that was born in winter?

They should have a party around thier bithday, even if it is in the winter

My DS was born in December and I would never think about throwing him a party in the summer. For one thing, he might start thinking he deserves 2 birthday parties every year.

If you want to take the kids swimming or whatever, some hotels will let you use their pools if you get a room for the night. That's what my stepsister did for her kid.

Yeah, unless they asked for it.

You could do a small one on their actual birthday and do an unbirthday in the summer for a bigger fun outdoorsy thing  

yes i do. my sister did that for my niece. she was born in january. she had her party in june. alot of people were put off by it. and my niece was very confused by it. i didnt go because i thought it was weird. i went down for her real birthday.

Ex DH always had a summer birthday party because his birthday is Christmas and his mom wanted him to have a special day. They always had a small dinner for his real birthday and celebrated his half birthday.

Stupid and confusing.

Last year around my daughter's birthday (April) we got slammed with class invitations. I felt obligated to go b/c everyone came to her party (not the intent, but couldn't bring myself to exclude anyone) Anywho, at one party I was wishing the "birthday" girl a happy birthday and she looked at me all confused, then her mother came in to clarify that her birthday was actually in December, but with Christmas and all that they decided to postpone......until mid-smurfing April  

ETA: And her birthday wasn't on Christmas day or anything like that, I think it was like the 11th or something....I don't get it and either did any of the other parents who got roped into the party.

Xmas birthdays are so rough...so far anyone I have met who's bday is a week near xmas HATES it

IF thats the only reason, then yes.

My sister always had a birthday party in June because it was her half birthday and she was born on Christmas. I understand that more.

....it wouldn't really be a birthday party, my opinion anyway.

We have celebrated Christmas in March, and my birthday which is in April has been celebrated in October... This year we are celebrating Christmas on November 22.

It all depends on when the family was all together.

mine is the day after so nobody could ever do anything for my birthday which meant that my little brother's got a bday part and I didn't.
