Vanilla soy milk?

posted 15th Nov
Today we found out my 12 month old is allergic to cows milk. I went to buy soy and accidentally bought vanilla...are there any soy mamas that can help me out on if I can just give him that? It's not the non fat or low fat and the brand is silk...I hope someone can help me out.

Yeah but I would go for almond milk. Way better than soy and tastier

It should be fine for now. Doctor wouldn't let me keep DD on silk because it doesn't have enough fat in it (even the red full fat one), so we had to go for gerber 2 soy formula.

Oh yeah also they don't need any kind of "milk" at that age.

I'm not sure i can do almond since we also found out he has a peanut allergy and I'm afraid to try other nuts lol. Does the formulas taste good enough for your little one? Mines still breast feeding but the doctor suggested I stop or change my diet.

I would just change your diet and not give him any of the milks.
I had to completely cut dairy out of my diet after my son was born because he had a milk protein allergy. When he was 1 we tried cheese and he did good with it so I slowly reintroduced dairy but it really wasnt too hard cutting dairy out of my diet for a year.

have you tried taking all the dairy out of your diet to see if it helps? I don't have much experience with breastfeeding. I only lasted about 4 weeks before I gave up. DD has been on soy formula since then so I don't think she cares about the taste.

You need to cut milk products out. My youngest has a severe milk and casein I tolerance. We had to cut everything with milk out of our diets. Chocolate, ice cream, yogurt, once you read labels it's amazing how Mich has milk in it

Hot dog and hamburg rolls, almost all cookies etc etc etc.
Oreos are safe though

Yeah I had to cut it out too when silas was born for the same reason. My pedi was just wanting me to start milk to get his vitamin D levels up. I'm definitely switching pedis. She didn't even want to test him for anything :-/
