It could be either. Both look exactly the same at 14 weeks.

As an ultrasound tech you cannot say anything to the patient (if for pregnancy you can obviously guess gender, and point out whats what) but like if the baby has passed away   the doctor has to come in and tell the patient

(I have been thru school for sonography lol its HARD WORK but so awesome!)

It's a girl. All babies have nubs and as the baby grows the nub wither turns down and receedes into the body becoming the clitorus or protrudes farther out becoming the penis. That nub is definitely getting closer to the body. It's a girl. Congrats. Now you have one of each.

Aw   that's even worse because you have to tell them that the doctor is going to have to come in and then they KNOW something is wrong!

My tech told me what looked great, measured fine/etc. She talked to me a lot. I guess it just depends on who you are with. I personally like if the tech talks to me. Silence makes everything seem horrible. However my tech went to get the perinatologist and he let me know my son has a possible horse shoe kidney.

They shouldn't have...we were ALWAYS reminded we CANNOT say we see anything wrong with the baby

Thats weird...like I said in the other reply they shouldn't have   unless they were a doctor not ultrasound tech doing the ultrasound? They should always bring a doctor in to check and tell the patient...ultrasound techs don't have the training to know whats exactly wrong, its a liability issue is what we were told
