wth? I've never heard that. My son was born at 33 weeks. His NICU stay was a week & 5 days. He had no problems with breathing on his own. He had some jaundice and needed to learn how to drink from a bottle, that was all.

Hugs and lots of prayers!!!

Put faith in ur dr.s and ur babies dr.s!!! My 1st was born at 38 weeks his lungs were still undeveloped, and his intestines and all of his organ were outside of his stomach, he was in nicu for 6 weeks, there was no way I could fully understand what they were doing and how, but I believed in them and he is a big 6 year old now who is giving me grey hairs at 27 years old -____-
My 2nd baby was born at 36 weeks and they gave us the steroid shot for her lungs and she was home in 3 days,
Stay positive, be prepared for the nicu experience, its a rough start for a lil baby, but when u see how strong these lil 1s are, you will get through it...

My son was born at 35 weeks and he had to stay a week only because of jaundice and a infection he got. He never was in the NICU, my term 37 week daughter that was just born had to stay 6 days in the NICU due to breathing trouble. They have no way to predict how your baby will do on the outside when it's born. I'd say at 34 weeks your baby won't be ready to go home right away but shouldn't have any major issues. Good luck
