Infant in front seat

I'm so livid I'm about to explode and I need to vent. I was at the gas station earlier sitting in my truck, waiting for my cousin to come out. I see a car pull in front of me and let someone out at the door. I saw an infant carseat in the passenger seat! And as if that isn't bad enough, it was tilted, so I'm not even sure it was buckled. And YES, there was a LITTLE baby in it! I tried to move to an angle where I could see the make/model and license plate # so I could report it. But by the time I was at the right angle, he was driving away. It looked like an older guy driving the car, like maybe 60's or even 70's. Way back in the day when he was having kids, there were no car seats so he really needs to educated on car seat safety! Some people's stupidity just amazes me!

Was their backseat full? It's not against the law to have babies in the front seat.

was it a 2 seater car? if its 2 seater there is allowed to be a car seat in the front.

Yikes! I would be livid if I saw this! Kids are supposed to be in the back seat! It's common sense! Smh

Like you said.. Back in his day they didn't have carseats. He might just be uninformed, which is ignorant not stupid.

That's just unsafe to put a baby in the front seat. Though it may not be illegal it is completely unsafe. Everyone should know to put the infant seat in the back

Umm, the air bag can KILL a baby. Pretty sure it's illegal. And there was ONE person in the backseat. It was not a 2 seater car. There was room for the baby in the back. The 1 person in the back was an adult.

you can have a car seat in the front seat as long as the air bag is off its not the best idea but sometimes that's the only option for some ppl

How do you know that the air bag wasn't turned off?   You could have talked to them, and helped.

I hate that!!! One time SO's sons mother was dropping A off (he is 4) and he was sitting in his car seat in the front seat of the car - boy did I freak!!

No I couldn't. Didn't you read the OP? When I tried to get a better look at the car they started driving away. I didn't have time to walk up to the car.

As long as the airbag is off it is legal. Maybe the back seat belts didn't work. You don't know the whole situation. I did see a miter breast feeding her baby while sitting in the passenger side at a red light! That pissed me off.

this! my friends back seat belts didn't work do to the dog chewing them lol and she had to put her baby in the front I think we need to know the whole story before saying someone is "wrong"
