re: Infant in front seat

posted 15th Nov
I see a lot of people on this site freak out and call other moms bad parents for forward facing before 2 years old. And most of you are saying it's totally fine for a tiny baby to be in a crooked carseat in the FRONT seat, as long as the air bag is off. Hmm, ok. Pretty sure it's more safe to forward face a 1 year old in the back seat than it is to rear face a newborn in the front seat. Even if the air bag IS off.

Actually it is probably safer to read face in the front seat than forward face.

Agreed!!

I would have flipped my lid. Then again where I'm from, even CHILDREN who don't meet the requirements aren't allowed in the front seat. 6 y/o DD can't sit up front

I've never seen anyone on here freak out for FF their child before 2 yeas, especially because it's not illegal to. That's the difference. It is illegal to FF a child under the age of 1 and 20lbs. NOT 2. It is not illegal to put a baby in the front seat as long as the airbags are off and if there is no where else to put him.
You don't know what is going on with his car, so don't be so quick to judge.

Show me where one person said it's ok. No one said they approve, they said you don't know the whole situation and you should mind your own business because of that fact.

It's not ILLEGAL. Does not mean that if there was not a good reason for it, that anyone approves.

all crooked and not buckled right yeah that's not cool bcuz there is no reason for that but a child in the front seat...you don't know why they are there it could be the safest option with what they have and I have never seen someone on here flip for FF LOs before 2...the only time I have ever seen ppl flip out is bcuz the parent gets all high and mighty like they are doing nothing wrong and ppl are trying to help

Crooked, I would be worried but my son has had to sit in our 2 seater truck in the front his whole life, it doesn't have airbags and while it's not the safest thing it's our only option.
