Have you heard of..?

A few friends of ours mentioned to us that some places are now allowing fathers to help deliver their child. Ever since they said this my SO is really wanting to get involved with the birth. I mentioned it to my doctor who didn't seem to know anything about it. I was trying to look it up online and I am still continuing my search, but I was wondering if any of you ladies have ever heard of the baby's father being able to partake in the delivery. Any links or resources are much appreciated!

Well...most places let the father cut the umbilical cord and whatnot, if that's what you mean. As long as there's a doctor or midwife present, I don't see why not...I mean all he's really doing is catching. A good friend of mine is a L&D nurse and they let her deliver my son, with the midwife there of course.
