EBF?

posted 15th Nov
What exactly does "exclusively breastfeeding" mean? No bottles? Or no formula? Or no solid food-just boob? Sorry, I have wondered and figured I would ask. Ha ha.

Nothing but boob.

ETA: now I think about it, to me it means nothing but breastmilk, whether it be from a boob or pumped milk in a bottle.

For ME, it means strictly boob. No bottles, no pumped milk, no formula, no solids, no water. Just boob. I don't know what it means to other people.

I always thought it meant absolutely nothing but breast milk from nursing. NO bottle, NO food NO formula.

eh, for me it means nothing but breastmilk. but i get what people say when they say nothing but boob.

ETA-- i pump my boobs sometimes. the milk comes from there. but, yeah, gotta feed it in a bottle once in a blue moon.

To me it was just breast milk. there was the occasion she used the bottle, but for a good 6 months she was just on the boob.

I would consider it boob and pumped milk. It's come from the same place just a different vessel, especially as some moms have no choice to give a bottle of pumped milk if they work.

For me it means only feeding breastmilk, regardless if it's pumped or boobs. I would even allow the occasional formula (i.e. you spilled what you pumped, so it's a situation where you might need to use formula), like once or twice a month.

I EBF and only give milk from my breast I think a big benefit of EBF is the "human touch"

But I think a lot of people mean "Just Breast milk" when they say EBF not just from the breast but human milk that is pumped.

Either way is wonderful to do for your baby!

So when people say their child has been EBF for 16 months they are saying their child has never had solids? HM...

I guess my son is no longer EBF as he is 7 months old and eating solids 2x a day. He only nurses otherwise. Do this many people not feed their child solids until they are over a year?

some do that but i feel like i deserve saying my kid is ebf. she never had any formula rarely even had pumped milk. i put my all into it and now im dealing with her first teeth and biting. people can get all self righteous all day long about how they ebf with no solids
