We still don't give juice to my almost-18 month old, since we don't find it necessary. We gave her a bit of diluted prune juice when she was 11-12 months because of constipation, but otherwise, she just drinks water, breast milk, and milk.

How much water are you planning to give your babies? If you're talking 8+ oz yeah I'd probably frown upon it, but an oz or two??

My son didn't have juice until after he was 3. His sister is 22 months and recently started stealing sips from him so she's had it but I don't give it often and instill water it down 1/4 juice to 3/4 water for both of them and he is now almost 6.

You never HAVE to introduce juice. They don't need it. When my kids were teething I gave them frozen damp burp cloths and big frozen peices of melon or cucumber but not until after they were 6 or 7 months.

just wow, I knew it was bad for any to drink an excessive amount of water but had no clue a 4 ounce sippy a day to play with was that dangerous. I wonder how many parents thought it was harmless. she has four older siblings the youngest of them is almost 11 and now that I think of it 'i used to freeze a baby bottle upside down in my freezer for teething.

I was thinking 4 ounces at the most I mean put a little in her cup for her to just play with basically to get her used to using a cup and because I thought the cold water would feel nice on her teething gums

And of course, putting cereal in a bottle is not okay unless directed for reflux purposes. Are you sure your Pediatrician was licensed?

Iv been giving my daughter water since about 3 or 4 months? I can't remember exactly, because my doctor told me it was okay to give her a bit of water every once in a while....If she drank her whole bottle and was still not asleep at bed time I would give her about a ounce of water (I have to feed her a bottle in order for her to fall asleep ) same thing now and she is 7 months.
