Getting engaged

How long was it until SO (or you lol) asked you to marry him/her? If it was a long time, did you start to think that he/she would never ask? SO and I have been together for 3 years and he hasn't asked and I know he won't ask for a long time. It just sucks because I am longing to be able to be considered his fiance and then eventually wife. Don't get me wrong, I love him no matter what and am just thankful to be with him..but I want this to happen lol. I have kind of lost hope on us ever getting engaged and married though.

DH didn't ask me to marry him for 4.5 years. I always knew he would ask me one day because we had those conversations and knew we were going to be together forever. I am glad we waited that long   We were engaged for a year before we got married too  

My husband and I were together for three and a half years before he asked. We didn't discuss it prior to then... he just asked. Well... kind of   he more or less handed me a ring... I had to make him ask the question.

ETA: We had been friends for six years prior to us even being together so we knew each other pretty well before we even started dating

1 1/2 years... but he has been telling me since we met he wanted me to be his wife!!!

8 months, we just celebrated 2 years of marriage

My ex husband took like 7 years to ask me to marry him and we did it right away.  

My current husband waited all of 7 months   but we've known each other for 15 years  

Some things are just to strong to deny  

8 months we have been talking since january, but dating since march. Weve known eachother since middle school and in highschool would flirt and everything but lost touch for a few years. now were back together and engaged   will be getting married probably may next year since he is going in the military as active and he wont leave me and DS behind!

My husband and I have been together since we we're 16 and 17 years old. Right before our 5th anniversary he proposed to me. We got pregnant that September, married the following September when our daughter was 5 months old. Now we been married for 5 years, together for 11 years and have three daughters
