Okay, I'm not sure...

This is kinda TMI...but ever since this morning, and it has gotten worse in the past couple hours, but everytime I wipe, I have this clear, watery and stringy discharge. That's all there is. I don't have the normal heavy discharge that is with the later parts of pregnancy. I woke up with my legs completely soaked and didn't know until I went to scratch my leg. So, I smelled it to make sure and it didn't smell like urine. It didn't really have a scent to it. I quickly turned on my light and my bed wasn't wet. Not even damp.

So I put a liner in to keep track of it and I haven't soaked it. It's damp but not soaking wet. I'm wondering if it is my mucus plug being expelled or...my water? I don't notice any leak. If it is just my plug, is it possible to wake up to your upper thighs being completely wet?

I'm just so confused....I don't want to call my OB if it is nothing...

Oh, and this watery discharge type thing, or whatever it is has been getting heavier and thicker. I'm not sure, but I THINK I saw traces of blood but I don't know. It had red in it but it wasn't streaked in it like how I had been told. It was like a spotting? I guess that is the best way to describe it...not sure haha...

Please, some adive or comments would be appreciated. This may be my second child, but this whole labour trying to start on its own is new to me.

Your water could have a small slow leak. Call L&D and ask what you should do. Good luck  

If you are worried, I would call your OBGYN and ask, it can't hurt. They may want to swab the liquid and tell you if it is your "water" or not.
It most likely isn't but if you are worried, call!!

I went to the doctor yesterday with this problem. I thought my water was leaking because my panties and legs were always damp so they checked me. I also had this funky discharge exactly how you discribed it. Come to find out, It was just where my cervix was beginning to softe & it can make you have lots of discharge.

It ended up being my mucus plug. I've lost a lot of it and it just keeps coming. I feel so nasty because of it. I haven't had to use a liner at all for this pregnancy and it kinda sucks having all that gunk coming out.

My mucus plug is coming out by the gallons and has been for about 2wks solid.. Yes I realize it regenerates but this is everyday or every other day.. Its so gross but cool all at the same time lol I just wonder how much more could possibly come out of me b4 labor actually starts. My drs appt tuesday I was 3cm & 80% effaced so surely to goodness it'll be sooner rather than later!
